Crysis Patch
Written by SixPack
Wednesday, 05 December 2007
Crytek community manager Alex has sent out a news letter today talking talking about the upcoming patch for Crysis. Take a look:
Greetings beloved Community!

Today we have got a little update on our upcoming patch #1 for Crysis for you. Even though there is no final change log available at the moment since the patch is still work in progress we would like to give you a rough overview what kind of issues are being addressed.

Crysis Patch #1 – General Content
First of all we don’t have set a release date for the patch yet. We are still working on it, but we are very confident that the patch will be out right after it has been verified and checked for stability. We will let you know immediately once we have more specific information on this for you.

As for the content it self, the patch is going to address following categories:
• Overall Performance
• Adjustments to LAW and Grenade balance in multiplayer

Please keep in mind this is not a major patch to the game, but more an update on performance and some Multiplayer tweaks that have been requested by the community.

Pre-Order/Special Edition Exclusive Vehicle (Amphibious APC) – Online Issues
A few of the people who got access to the Amphibious APC wonder why they are not able to purchase that vehicle in one of the factories. This is related to the fact that the dedicated server need to be logged into Gamespy to allow people who purchased the pre-order/SE version of Crysis to buy the vehicle ingame.

We already informed most of the server hosting companies about that and we recommend everyone who is setting up a dedicated server to read the Crysis Server Documentation.

Weapon Sound loop – Workaround!
Some committed community members found out a temporary workaround for the sound looping bug that occurs in some multiplayer sessions. In the case you experience this bug please follow this instructions:

1. Open console and type in “con_restricted 0” (without “”).
2. Type in “s_soundenable 0” (without “”) to disable sound completely.
3. Type in “s_soundenable 1” (without “”) to enable sound again.

So whenever this bug occurs just follow the steps above and the bug should be gone. Crytek is also trying to solve that problem once we are able to reproduce it in-house.

Thanks to these members for finding this workaround!

v1.3 patch for Call of Duty 4. Take a look:
Wanted to give you a heads up that we've added even more to the upcoming patch / update thanks solely to ALL of your feedback on the Sniper Rifle, and ACOG Scope.

We have fixed the bullet registration "Accuracy" of the Sniper Rifles and ACOG Scope thanks to your feedback, so you will now have improved hit detection when using those weapons / attachment.

Again, thanks to everyone who sent in emails, posted on the forums, made videos, or let us know in any other way about this. It's fixed now and will be in the upcoming patch for 1.3 Patch for PC along with a few other updates / fixes. Full patch notes will be posted of course, once we have them finished.
Stay tuned for more info and the release of this upcoming patch!

Poe:2 News #115
Written by SixPack
Wednesday, 05 December 2007

Welcome back for our #115 news posting and the release of Point of Existence:2 client version 2.1. Our active developers have done a lot to get this build ready and our testers have done a great job testing things. To begin the news we want to thank a few groups for their help and assistance. First off would be Hypernia.net – our primary sponsor who has provided our server environment for the last 4 years. Without them we couldn’t have afforded the infrastructure costs to run the servers that we currently have. They’ve done a lot for us over the last 4 years and we couldn’t have kept our site open for this long if it wasn’t for them. With our release they are also providing a server promotion - for more details just click on the Hypernia banner at the top of the webpage. Second would be Pocketsoft - they’ve allowed us to use RTPatch which is the same patching application that EA and other software development companies use . For our dedicated testers – they’ve done a lot with making sure that the major bugs are detected and reported so that the development team can address the problems before we release to the public. With all of the new games being release it’s difficult to get people play our mod – gaming communities like One Black Sheep and Datorbutiken.comhave done a lot to support our mod by hosting their organized game sessions and contests. Currently Datorbutiken.com is hosting a contest for “best in game fraps movie” so click on the link to get more details.

Illicit has been working hard on a new urban beach assault map we are calling "Snake Eyes". On this map the United States Marines must storm the beach and take the city.

Taking that beach and the city will be a hard job for the Marines, so to aid them Illicit has also made the DDX Destroyer to provide a launching platform for the assault as well as be a fire base to rain down arty on the entrenched defenders. The ship has 2 stationary player controlled artillery cannons and one tomahawk launcher to provide support to the Marines landing on shore.
